Undergraduate and postgraduates students gained recognition by participating in various national and international technical events:
The Storm Case Challenge “Industrial Problem Solving” competitions organized by the Thermax Global Pvt. Ltd. for Chemical Engineering Students across India. The challenge involved a real-life industrial problem.The top five teams, selected from across India, proceeded into the final round. The Department takes immense pride as all the Three Prizes 1st, 2nd and 3rd were bagged by students from Chemical Engineering Department. The winning teams received cash prizes of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/- and Rs. 20,000 respectively.

Dhananjay Dileep, an alumnus of the department now, received “Graduate Research Initiative Fellowship” and the “James Katzer Energy Fellowship” as a graduate student at Iowa State University
Ms Shivangi Goswami, a student of MTech (EPD), won the first position in ISTE-IPCL Best M Tech Thesis Award in Chemical Engineering for the thesis titled, “An Environment Friendly Approach : In-Vessel Composting and Anaerobic Digestion for Methane Gas Generation from Secondary Sludge of GESCSL, CETP-Vatva, Ahmedabad” (January 2019)
Ms Parwathi Pillai, a student of MTech (EPD), won the second position in ISTE-IPCL Best MTech Thesis Award in Chemical Engineering for the thesis titled, “Instantaneous Generation of Sodium Hypochlorite Disinfectant by Electrochemical Method”(December 2017)
Ms Darshana Poshiya, a student of MTech (EPD), won the first position in ISTE-IPCL Best MTech Thesis Award in Chemical Engineering for the thesis titled, “Affordable Pd Doped Perovskite based Catalytic Converter for Abating Automotive Emission” (December 2017)
Mr Rushabh Patel and Mr Meet Shah, students of BTech Semester VI, won the best paper award in the National Youth Summit for their paper titled, “Solar Photoreactors: A Comprehensive Review” held at B.K. School of Management (January 2017)
Ms Ashwini Karlekar, a student of MTech (ES), won the first position in ISTE-IPCL Best MTech Thesis Award in Chemical Engineering for the thesis titled, “Pinch Analysis and Process Integration in Petrochemical Plant” (February 2016)
