All India Chemistry Talent Contest (ACT – CONTECH) – 2025

The Department of Chemical Engineering, in collaboration with the UG Research Cell, Nirma University and Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT), Mumbai, successfully organized the All-India Chemistry Talent Contest (ACT – CONTECH) – 2025 at Nirma University on January 31, 2025. This national-level concept test aimed to evaluate the conceptual understanding of undergraduate chemistry students across the country and encourage analytical thinking in the field of chemistry. The exam was conducted offline consisted of 80 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with no negative marking. Participants were required to complete the test within two hours, selecting the correct answer from four given options. A total of 84 students registered for the exam, making it a competitive and engaging assessment. 06 did not attempt the exam, 06 (Sunay Oza 24BCH055, Dhrumil Amin 22BCH011, Krish J. Rajput 24BCH016, Arnav Lasod 22BCH005, Soumya Sharma 22BCH063, Ashutosh Kumar Choudhary 22BCH006) got certificate of excellence for getting more than 60% marks and 62 received certificate of participation for getting marks greater than 30%. Sunay Oza was declared the topper of the Institute.

The event was successfully guided by Dr. Milind Joshipura (Head, CH Dept) and coordinated by Dr. Neha Patni, who ensured smooth execution and management of the contest. Ms Gunjan Rathi (22BCH012) and Mr Hansal Jadav (22BCH020) worked as student coordinators. The examination provided a valuable platform for students to test their knowledge and understanding of core chemistry concepts at a national level. It also served as an opportunity for students to benchmark their performance against peers and gain insights into their strengths and areas for improvement. The event concluded successfully, reinforcing the importance of conceptual clarity in chemistry education and inspiring students to strive for academic excellence.
